Our Design Specialist, Jack, visited with him and inspected his crawl space. He reported back to the owner with the following solution.

The crawl space in this home needed a full encapsulation. Our installation crew would begin by removing the old visqueen and batted insulation. The crawl space would then be prepped and graded, and the Drainage Matting would be installed to add a thermal break, durability, and a puncture resistance. We were contacted by a commercial property in Ashdown to help with their crawl space. Water was entering the space and there was concern of damaging this historical building. Our Design Specialist, Jack, inspected the crawl space and visited with the decision makers, inspectors, and engineers. This was going to be a big job!

In this large crawl space, there was a lot of work to be done. Removing debris and grading and prepping the crawl space is the first step. Then, to support the subfloor correctly, floor joists were sistered, zinc coated metal beams were installed, and SmartJacks were put in place on concrete footers to properly support and stabilize floor joists and beams. The team also removed all panel insulation and spray foam insulation from the crawl space. After ensuring the building was properly supported, three holes were dug to place the three TripleSafe Sump Pumps. A drainage line was then installed to carry the water through IceGuard, out and away from the building. The crawl space openings needed to be enlarged and our metal hinged and lockable doors were installed. Vent Seals were installed to prevent outside air from entering the crawl space, along with a large internal insulated Vent Cover. 

Drainage Matting was laid to provide a thermal break, puncture resistance, and durability. The CleanSpace Liner was then installed isolating the building from the earth, brightening the crawl space and reducing humidity. Our team then installed three of our SandiDry Sedona Dehumidifiers.
