This homeowner called us concerned about water in their crawl space. We went out to the home to find that this crawl space was just a dirt floor, so moisture and humidity was a major problem under this home. We explained to the homeowner that without some of our products this problem was not going to go away. We installed a number of products to solve these problems. 

We started with laying down our drainage matting, which is essential to help the water get to the drain of the crawl space. Over this we put down clean space which is used to reduce the overall moisture and humidity under the home. We also installed a Sedona SaniDry dehumidifier to help with the humidity problem. This is the most efficient dehumidifier on the market and we believe that it makes crawl spaces safer and healthier. We also installed a SmartSump, which is a drainage system specially made for crawl spaces. 

This customer called us saying that their crawl space was flooding during heavy rains. When we inspected the home there was standing water all in the crawl space. There was simply nowhere for the water to drain out. To help this customer we installed a number of our products to help the water drain. To help we had to start by grading the ground underneath the home, there were pockets for the water to gather. We installed drainage matting, which helps the water drain out of the crawl space. Drainage matting directs the water to the proper drain that we install under the home. We also installed two SmartSumps. SmartSumps are specifically designed for crawl spaces, they are designed to alleviate the flooding of the crawl space and to reduce the overall moisture of the crawl space. We also installed two UltraSumps, these are used to keep the crawl space dry incase the SmartSump goes out due to power outage or a tripped circuit breaker. This customer called us saying that the door to their crawl space had been left open and it was causing issues under the home, such as mold and moisture under the home. The customer wanted to use their crawl space for storage but didn't want their personal items to be damaged. When we got under the home we saw a small amount of mold, which could grow if we did not work to solve the problem.

To start to solve this problem we had to work to remove some the insulation that had fallen and was not serving its purpose any longer. We also installed drainage matting and clean space to give the water a way out of the crawl space and to trap the moisture of it under the clean space. We also covered the vents of the crawl space, so the outside moisture and humidity did not have a chance to get in through these vents. To stop the mold from spreading under the crawl space we installed a Sedona SaniDry dehumidifier. This dehumidifier lowers the humidity, so the mold does not have a chance to grow. This customer originally called us just wanting their crawl space to be cleaned out and wanted someone to inspect if they needed something else done. Upon inspection, we found that this crawl space had a serious moisture problem. They had water standing in the crawl space and some of the beams under the home had mold starting to grow on them. After the crawl space was prepped and ready the crew installed drainage matting which created small tunnels for the water to flow through and out of the crawl space. When our production team arrived they started by installing our SmartSump- which is a combination of patented and custom components which make up a highly efficient and reliable water evacuation system for crawl space environments- To install a SmartSump the production team starts off by- creating a hole in the floor, at the lowest possible elevation in the crawlspace approximately 21" in diameter and excavate down 21" from the floor surface.  Setting the liner in the hole with the lid approximately 1/4 below the surface of the crawlspace and backfill with clean stone. Install the pump; check valve and section of 1-1/2" PVC discharge pipe that extends above the floor. With the Cleanspace cut approximately 2" inside the liner base all the way around the diameter place the 2-piece lid around the discharge pipe and pull the electrical cord through the other opening in the top and then with the Cleanspace sandwiched between the base and sump lid, bolt the lid into place. Install airtight grommets and alarm. Mount Cord Captain to the 1 1/2" discharge line using supplied pipe clamp for wire management, hang system service envelope using 8" wire tie supplied and fill out all information on labels. 

After installing the SmartSump the production team would then begin installing the Drainage Matting and the CLeanSpace. The Drainage Matting is great for crawl space drainage under CleanSpace on concrete or dirt floors. The dimples allow better conductivity for water to get to the perimeter drainage or sump pump located in the lowest spot of the crawlspace. CleanSpace Drainage matting also softens the floor and increases durability. CleanSpace liner is a white/blue seven-layer reinforced laminate containing no adhesives. The outer layer consists of high-strength polyurethane film manufactured using virgin grade resins and containing UVI and thermal stabilizers. cleanse is reinforced with two separate plies of a 900 denier polyurethane reinforcement laid in a diagonal pattern spaced 3/8 apart with an additional machine direction polyester every 3' across the width. The individual plies are laminated together with molten polyethylene.

The Last product that was installed was the IceGuard- The IceGuard system allows water to escape from a sump pump discharge line if the pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. When the discharge pipe thaws or the blockage is removed, the water will automatically run along its normal route.
