The CleanSpace liner is used to isolate the home from the earth completely and permanently. The liner is a heavy 20 mils thick material similar to a pool liner. It is manufactured in 7 layers- a blend of high-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, and two layers of polyester cord reinforcement. It is blue on one side and white on the other. The bright white finished side really brightens a crawl space with the available lighting and allows you to easily see that your crawl space is free of mold, insects, and dirt. The CleanSpace liner is manufactured with an antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh- molded right into the material.

When this Farmington homeowner reached out to us, we were ready to serve. John T. listened carefully to their concerns then thoroughly inspected the crawl space. When he presented his findings along with a solution, they were eager to get started.

Our team started by removing all the debris under the home, including the insulation between the floor joists. When you encapsulate your crawl space, you are adding another layer of protection between your home and the earth, so the unsightly insulation hanging from the floor joists in no longer necessary!

The team graded the crawl space and installed the Drainage Matting and the CleanSpace Liner. They also added Vent Seals, sealing the vents entirely and installed the EverLast Door. This door is resistant to mold growth and will not rot or rust. A Sani-Dry Sedona Dehumidifier, the pint-sized powerhouse, was installed to keep the humidity level below 55%.

When the job was completed, they did an in-person walkthrough of the completed work with the homeowner and answered their questions. Another cleaner, drier, healthier home!

Installing an Encapsulation in Farmington, AR

Crawl space encapsulation is the adding of a heavy-duty polyethylene barrier to cover the crawl space including floors, foundation walls, and possibly even its ceiling. An encapsulation barrier could be likened to the lining in your swimming pool that prevents leaks. The barrier works best when it covers your home’s crawl space completely. Sealing tape connects the barrier’s pieces throughout the space, and once the space is sealed, a dehumidifier helps regulate your crawl space’s moisture level.

Our CleanSpace Liner is a white/blue seven-layer reinforced laminate containing no adhesives. The outer layer consists of high strength polyurethane film manufactured using virgin grade resins and containing UVI and thermal stabilizers. CleanSpace is reinforced with two separate plies of a 900-denier polyurethane reinforcement laid in a diagonal pattern spaced 3/8" apart with an additional machine direction polyester every 3" across the width. The individual plies are laminated together with molten polyethylene.

The second thing we installed is our SmartSump- SmartSumps are designed to evacuate water from the CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. To install the SmartSump, installers follow the following procedures.

Create a hole in the floor, at the lowest possible elevation in the crawlspace approximately 21" in diameter and excavate down 21" from the floor surface. Set the liner in the hole with the lid approximately 1/4" below the surface of the crawlspace and backfill with clean stone. Install the pump; check valve and section of 1-1/2" PVC discharge pipe that extends above the floor. With the CleanSpace cut approximately 2" inside the liner base all the way around the diameter place the 2-piece lid around the discharge pipe and pull the electrical cord through the other opening in the top and then with the CleanSpace sandwiched between the base and sump lid, bolt the lid into place. Install airtight grommets and alarm. Mount Cord Captain to the 1 1/2" discharge line using supplied pipe clamp for wire management, hang system service envelope using 8" wire tie supplied and fill out all information on labels.

The last thing we used for this job was our SaniDry Sedona- The Sedona is the most effective and energy-efficient flow through dehumidifier in the world. The Sanidry Sedona eliminates damp, musty odors in your basement or crawlspace by drying and filtering the air. Mold and mildew are musty smelling fungi that thrive in moist conditions. Dust mite fecal matter is the #1 indoor allergen. The SaniDry Sedona will keep your home below 55% relative humidity-- mold won't stand a chance and dust mites will die off!
