Ms. D in Jacksonville wanted to put her home on the market but knew she would need to make some repairs in the crawl space first. She called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas to take advantage of our free crawl space repair estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Jack, came out to inspect the crawl space and visit with Ms. D. about her concerns. Since the issue of concern was structural damage, she choose to follow Jack's suggestion to replace parts of the main beams and add our SmartJacks for additional support. 

Will and his team went to work, beginning by digging holes for concrete footers to properly install our SmartJacks. SmartJacks are support piers that are adjustable to help keep the floors of the home where they are supposed to be. The SmartJacks were installed to support beams in the middle and along the back wall of the home. Beams were replaced as needed in the crawl space and this home is now much more structurally sound! Ms. D. was able to put her home on the market and the new owners love it!

A resident of Jacksonville called concerned there may be moisture in his crawl space, he had noticed his floors were starting to buckle. One of our Design Specialist went out to inspect the crawl space and visit with the homeowner about his concerns. He was able to present him with a solution that satisfied the customer, and the work was scheduled to begin.

Jordan and his crew started by removing debris and grading the surface of the crawl space. Vents were sealed with our SilverGlo Insulation Panels, and the EverLast Access Door was installed, stopping outside air from entering the space. Drainage Matting is the next step, creating a thermal break, and the CleanSpace Liner is installed to isolate the home from the earth. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier is installed to pull moisture out of the air, and this encapsulation is complete.

Jacksonville residents contacted us with a request to replace insulation in their crawl space. Our Design Specialist, Curtis, completed an inspection of the crawl space. After presenting the homeowners with his findings and a solution, the homeowners agreed it was time for encapsulation. While there was not a lot of visible water in this crawl space, the humidity in the air was being absorbed by the supporting structures. Those supporting structures are made of wood, and wood can only absorb so much moisture before it begins to rot. We take wood moisture content readings and humidity at each home we inspect; this home was at 24% wood moisture content and 74 % relative humidity. Rot was setting in and was only going to get worse.

When Justin and his team arrived, they began by removing the old insulation and grading the crawl space, grading on a slope so water drains instead of pooling. SilverGlo Insulation Panels and Vent Seals were installed, and rim joists were sealed with spray foam insulation for those tiny crevices. The masonry piers were wrapped with 12-mil thick Wallie to prevent condensation, and Drainage Matting and the CleanSpace Liner were laid, providing a durable vapor barrier and isolating the home from the earth. The EverLast Door was custom cut on site to ensure a precision fit. Due to the amount of moisture in the wood, the homeowners went with three of our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifiers. Circulating dry air at a rate of 300 cubic feet per minute per machine, the support structures of this home can be dried out, stopping the negative effects of mold and rot.
