Wet Crawl Space Support Beams in Marked Tree, Arkansas

This customer knew that his crawl space needs to be encapsulated and he had some beams that were sagging. Justin went out and inspected the home to see what was the cause of these problems. He found that there was standing water in the crawl space and the beams that were sagging needed to be replaced.

The crew started by grading out the floor so the water did not have a pocket to sit in. They then put drainage matting over this, the drainage matting creates a little tunnel for the water to travel through. Over the drainage matting, they placed CleanSpace, which is a vapor barrier. The clean space traps all of the moisture under so it does not affect the crawl space. To deal with the water problem the crew installed a SmartSump, this is specially made for crawl spaces. The SmartSump works to pump water out of the crawl space, and it has a special lid so no moisture escapes to the crawl space. They also installed a SaniDry Sedona, the most energy efficient dehumidifier on the market. The dehumidifier works to lower the overall humidity in the crawl space to eliminate any chance of mold growing.

To solve the problem of the sagging beam, the crew worked to replace the beams. To prevent any future settling the crew installed SmartJacks. The SmartJacks are adjustable steel piers. The crew finished by installing CleanSpace Vent Covers so there was no chance of the outside air and humidity to affect the crawl space.
