This home had a number of problems in the crawl space, including standing water and high humidity. If left untreated the combination of water and high humidity could cause mold to grow on the wood beams which could have an effect on the homeowner. To solve the problems of this home and prevent future problems the production crew installed a number of products.
The crew had to start by removing insulation, this insulation was wet and not serving the purpose it was intended to, and it was a prime place for mold to grow. Once the insulation was removed the crew had to grade the floor so there is not any hole for the water to sit in. After the crawl space was prepped and ready the crew installed drainage matting which created small tunnels for the water to flow through and out of the crawl space. On top of this the crew installed clean space, which is a vapor barrier that locks out the moisture and prevents it from affecting any of the crawl space. The crew also installed a SaniDry Sedona to control the humidity under the home. This is the most energy efficient dehumidifier on the market, and helps the homeowner save on their energy. To finish the crew installed a crawl space vent cover to prevent any outside moisture or air from penetrating the crawl space.
