This customer was experiencing some moisture problems under their home. Under the home there were signs that moisture was beginning to affect some of the wood beams and other parts of the crawl space. There was also a problem with water just sitting in the crawl space which was increasing the chances of mold and mildew growing. To solve the problems for this customer we installed drainage matting, this a durable material that is place directly on the crawl space floor. The drainage matting is unique because it has dimples that give the water a path to travel, it directs the water straight to the SmartSump. The SmartSump is specially made for crawl spaces, it has a moisture locking lid, so when the water is in the pump no moisture escapes to ensure that the crawl space is as dry as possible. On top of the drainage matting the crew installed CleanSpace, this serves as a vapor barrier so there is no chance of water impacting this home. The crew also installed a SaniDry Sedona, this is the most energy efficient dehumidifier on the market, it lowers the overall humidity in the crawl space to reduce the chance that mold has to grow. The crew finished by installing new crawl space vent covers. These vent covers may sound like a small thing to replace, but they can play a big part in future problems. Without these vent covers the outside air and moisture can easily enter the crawl space and begin causing problems.
