Our installation team started by treating the crawl space for mold with our MoldX treatment. This, when combined with our CleanSpace Encapsulation System and Dehumidifier is guaranteed to eliminate all mold growth. They then started removing debris and grading the floor of the crawl space. This helps eliminate low points that would typically hold water. SilverGlo Insulation Panels and Vent Seals were installed to insulate the crawl space and prevent outside air from entering. To prevent condensation from entering the crawl space, the team wrapped the piers with Wallie, a 12mil thick liner similar to CleanSpace. Our dimpled Drainage Matting was installed on the floor of the crawl space, allowing ground water to flow beneath it towards the SmartSump Sump Pump, installed in the lowest part of the crawl space. The crawl space had standing water in it that was causing some moisture related issues. Our System Design Specialist, Steven, sat down and visited with the homeowners about their crawl space and then performed a full inspection. He presented a solution the homeowners with a solution that would remedy the problem.

Our installation team installed the CleanSpace Encapsulation System with the SmartSump and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. The team dug a trench around the walls of the crawl space leading to the lowest part of the crawl space where they had installed the SmartSump Sump Pump. They installed Star Drainage Pipe in the trench. This takes on water that would otherwise enter the crawl space and drains it into the SmartSump Sump Pump. Outside the home, the sump pump drains through IceGuard and out into the lawn away from the home through LawnScape. The piers inside the crawl space are wrapped with Wallie to prevent condensation from forming on the porous concrete, and the vents are sealed with the SilverGlo Vent Seals to keep humid outside air out of the crawl space. The dimpled Drainage Matting and CleanSpace Liner are secured in place, isolating the home from the earth completely and permanently. Part of keeping your crawl space dry involves a sump pump. The State of the art Smart Sump is designed just for crawl spaces. The liner and lid are designed to form a tight seal around the clean space liner.  Our production team does the following: to install a Smart Sump you would follow the following steps- create a hole in the floor, at the lowest possible elevation in the crawlspace approximately 21" in diameter and excavate down 21" from the floor surface. Set the liner in the hole with the lid approximately 1/4 " below the surface of the crawlspace and backfill with clean stone. Install the pump; check valve and section of 1-1/2" PVC discharge pipe that extends above the floor. With the clean space cut approximately 2" inside the liner base all the way around the diameter, place the 2- piece lid around the discharge pipe and pull the electrical cord through the other opening in the top and then with the clean space sandwich between the base and sump lid, bolt the lid into place. Install airtight grommets and alarm. Mount cord captain to the 1 1/2" discharge line using supplied pipe clamp for wire management, hang system service envelope using 8" wire tie supplied and fill out all information on labels.  By following these steps of installation the Smart Sump will be properly installed!!
