Standing Water in Pine Bluff, AR Crawl Space

Before After
Standing Water in Pine Bluff, AR Crawl Space Standing Water in Pine Bluff, AR Crawl Space

As a crawl space repair company, we travel the state to serve our customers. This homeowner in Pine Bluff contacted us with some questions about standing water in their crawl space. A wet crawl space can lead to mold and rot, both of which can put you and your family in harms way. Jack, our Design Specialist, inspected the crawl space and the homeowner agreed a crawl space encapsulation was the right move.

Bryan’s crew removed debris and graded the crawl space, including filling in holes. The SmartSump Sump Pump was installed, and piers were wrapped with our 12-mil thick Wallie liner. SilverGlo VentSeals were put up, made from graphite infused SilverGlo Insulation boards, and Drainage Matting put down to direct ground water flow towards the sump pump. The CleanSpace liner is installed right on top of the Drainage Matting to isolate the home from the earth, and the two products together to reduce humidity, outside air infiltration, and heat loss. The pint sized powerhouse, the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, removes moisture from the air and moves air at a rate of 300 cubic feet of air per minute. This dries the building materials and makes that damp feeling in your home go away. An EverLast Door was customized on site, and the EverLast Access Well was installed to prevent water from entering the crawl space.

Job Stories From Pine Bluff, AR
Moisture in Crawlspace, Pine Bluff Ar

Homeowner Mary D, noticed an odd smell coming from her crawl space, so she decided to call the experts at Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas to solve their issues. When our experts arrived at Mary's house, we decided to use the following products to defeat and prevent future moisture from coming. We used our CleanSpace Liner, SaniDry Sedona, Everlast Door.

Our CleanSpace Liner is a white/blue seven-layer reinforced laminate containing no adhesives. The outer layer consists of high strength polyurethane film manufactured using virgin grade resins and containing UVI and thermal stabilizers. The CleanSpace Liner is used to isolate the home from the earth completely and permanently. This dramatically reduces the humidity levels in the air which when combined with sealing outside air and dehumidification, will eliminate mold growth and rot from the crawl space. To install the liner we carefully cut and install it in sections. Small holes will be drilled into the crawl space walls approximately 6" below the wood sill plate and every 3' align the wall. Nylon fasteners are installed to permanently secure the CleanSpace liner to the wall. The top edge of the liner is sealed to the walls with a polyurethane sealant. All seams are sealed with special 4" wide sealing tape and/sealant. The Cleanspace liner is also sealed around other objects, such as pipes, columns, and piers with any combination of the sealing of concrete.

Which leads me to the next product we installed in Marry home, Our SaniDry Sedona. The Sedona eliminates damp, musty, odors in your crawlspace by drying and filtering the air.  Its high performance is one of the best on the market. Whether a dehumidifier will keep up and ensure mold won't grow in all seasonal conditions depends on how much water it will take out of the air. This depends on capacity and airflow. The SaniDry Sedona has a whopping 100 pints per day capacity and will move over 300 cubic feet of dry air per minute around your crawlspace. This dries the building materials and contents of your home and makes that damp feeling go away. It is also one of the leading high-efficiency dehumidifiers on the market.  The Sedona is not only Energy Star rated (most dehumidifiers are not even close) but it's the most efficient dehumidifier in the world without a large bulky heat exchange core- at over 2.9 liters of water per kilowatt-hour of electricity. This means you'll save on electricity over the years while keeping your home dry and healthy.

The last thing we installed was our EverLast Door. The EverLast door is a great way to improve the appearance, operation, and energy efficiency of a basement or crawlspace window. The bright, modern, easy gliding Everlast Windows are a must for every home.

Mary's Crawlspace is now mold and moisture free and she no longer has an odor smell in her living room. She is very glad she called the experts at Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas!!
