A CleanSpace Encapsulation System is the best way to protect your home from mold, mildew, and rot. Part of that system is the SmartSump Sump Pump. The SmartSump is designed to keep your crawl space dry by removing water from the crawl space. It includes a perforated liner to allow ground water in, with a 1/3 horsepower pump that rests on a pump stand to keep silt and sediment from causing clogs.
The Smart in SmartSump is the WaterWatch Alarm. This alarm rests on the lid of the SmartSump. The unique design on the lid allows water from a plumbing leak to trigger the alarm before draining into the sump pump. This means you get a heads up if something has gone wrong in your crawl space. The WaterWatch Alarm will also alert you to pump or power failures. The water that enters your SmartSump is pumped out of your crawl space and directed away from your home.

Most times, water in the crawl space gets there one of three ways: a plumbing leak, water seepage from the surrounding soil (usually after heavy rain), or condensation. Humidity condenses on cold surfaces, like ducts, and drips onto the crawl space floor.
Puddles of water in the crawl space aren’t good, but the water itself won’t ruin your home. It’s the water vapor (or moisture) that causes rot, mold, energy loss, and attracts pests. And these problems don’t just stay in your crawl space. As much as 50% of the air upstairs comes from below - this means mold spores, musty smells, and humid air that dust mites love.
To solve this homeowner's water and moisture issues we installed the following products.
The first thing we installed was our Drainage Matting is a great for crawl space drainage under CleanSpace on concrete or dirt floors. The dimples allow better conductivity for water to get to the perimeter drainage or sump pump located in the lowest spot of the crawlspace.
The next thing we installed is out Smart Sump. The Smart Sump is a combination of patented and custom components which make up a highly efficient and reliable pressure relief system and water evacuation system from basement or crawlspace water control systems. To install the SmartSump- Create a hole in the floor approximately 21" in diameter and excavate down 24" from the floor surface. Set the liner in the hole with the lid approximately 1/4" below the surface of the floor and backfilled with clean stone and potions. A clean pump stands at the bottom of the liner. Install the pump; on the clean pump stand to check valve and section of the 1-1/2" PVC discharge pipe that extends above the floor. Place the 2-piece lid around the discharge pipe and pull the electrical cord through the other opening in the top and then bolt the lid into place. Install airtight grommets and water watch alarm.
The last thing we installed was our SilverGlo- The panel is expanded polystyrene foam insulation with graphite infused throughout the foam with a foil material laminated to one or both sides of the panel. The graphite drives the insulation value (or R-value) of the foam up by approximately 24" over conventional foam by lowering its thermal conductivity and the foil adds heat-reflecting capabilities.
