Conway, AR – Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas recently installed a new type of installation, called SilverGlo™, for the first time.
This insulation was recently patented by Basement Systems, Inc. It is made of tiny graphite particles that permeate its foam insulation to give it a silver gray shine. These tiny graphite particles reflect heat and lower the material’s conductivity for superior R-value per inch. R-value is the measure of thermal resistance that determines what provides the best insulation for homes. The higher the R-value the greater the insulating effectiveness.
SilverGlo™ not only resists heat conduction, it also acts as a radiant barrier. It reflects heat back into your crawl space so it keeps the cold out and the heat in for added energy savings. Unlike fiberglass batt insulation, rigid foam boards never lose insulating value by settling or compressing. Foam boards shed water instead of soaking it up like cellulose insulation. In addition, foam insulation will not support mold or provide a home for mice, insects and other pests.
