A dirt crawl space under a home is a very bad idea. The earth has very high humidity in the soil. This water vapor moves easily into the crawl space and upwards into the house environment. To waterproof this basement, we installed WaterGuard Drain System complete with inspection ports. We also installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump System with a Battery Backup unit. The WaterGuard is a subfloor perimeter drainage system for basements that is installed below the surface of the basement floor and the top of the footing. This channels water seepage from the foundation walls, the footing wall join, and block wall cavities to the sump pump. The inspection ports allow for visual inspection and system testing. The TripleSafe Sump Pump System includes two 120v pumps and one 12v battery backup system. They are specifically designed to relieve subfloor water pressure and remove the water from the basement water control system. The Battery Backup unit allows for the pump to continue working if the power goes out for any reason.
