No matter how pretty the home, a nasty crawl space can devalue it! This home in Sherwood had a damp, nasty crawl space that was causing problems inside the home, so they called CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas. Justin, one of our System Design Specialists, suggested a full CleanSpace Encapsulation to eliminate the problems from amount of moisture in the crawl space, a breeding ground for mold and rot. 

Our installation team, led by Andrew, sealed the vents with SilverGlo Vent Seals, adding a layer of insulation to prevent humid air from entering the crawl space. They dug a trench around the edge of the crawl space, where they installed our Star Drainage Pipe, designed to take on ground water while not taking on mud. The Star Drainage Pipe runs to our SmartSump Sump Pump, installed in the lowest point of the home. They completely sealed the crawl space with our dimpled Drainage Matting to direct ground water towards the SmartSump, and lined the crawl space with our CleanSpace Liner, to fully isolate the home from the earth. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was added to keep the humidity level below 55%, and the whole home will now stay cleaner, drier, and healther!

A dirt crawl space under a home is a very bad idea. The earth has very high humidity in the soil. This water vapor moves easily into the crawl space and upwards into the house environment. A damp environment is very unhealthy and destructive. Mold thrives and reproduces by producing airborne spores by the millions, and some molds are toxic.  The CleanSpace liner completely isolates your home from the earth. This dramatically reduces the humidity level in the air which, when combined with sealing outside air and dehumidification, will eliminate mold growth and rot from your crawl space and make the whole house healthier.

To waterproof this basement, we installed WaterGuard Drain System complete with inspection ports. We also installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump System with a Battery Backup unit. The WaterGuard is a subfloor perimeter drainage system for basements that is installed below the surface of the basement floor and the top of the footing. This channels water seepage from the foundation walls, the footing wall join, and block wall cavities to the sump pump. The inspection ports allow for visual inspection and system testing. The TripleSafe Sump Pump System includes two 120v pumps and one 12v battery backup system. They are specifically designed to relieve subfloor water pressure and remove the water from the basement water control system. The Battery Backup unit allows for the pump to continue working if the power goes out for any reason.
