A dirt crawl space under your home is a very bad idea. The earth has very high humidity in the soil. This water vapor moves easily into the crawl space and upwards into the house environment. Insects and critters of all kinds love damp environments and wet materials. Rot and decay occur in damp environments causing structural damage.
The CleanSpace liner is used to isolate the home from the earth completely and permanently. The liner is a heavy 20 mil-thick material similar to a pool liner. It is manufactured in 7 layers- a blend of high-density polyethylene, low- density polyethylene, and two layers of polyester cord reinforcement.
A homeowner in Garfield contacted us with serious concerns about moisture and mold in her crawl space. It was starting to affect her health and she knew she needed to find a solution. She called Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas to get more information about a crawl space encapsulation. Craigen, one of our Design Specialists, visited with her about her concerns and inspected the crawl space. He was able to put her mind at ease with his solution.
When Thomas and his installation crew arrived, they prepped the crawl space by removing the debris left behind by other contractors. Craigen had already marked where the SmartSump needed to be installed, and they graded the crawl space accordingly. Vents were sealed with graphite infused SilverGlo Insulation, and the piers supporting the home were wrapped with Wallie to prevent condensation. They installed Drainage Matting to add a thermal break, and UltraFresh antimicrobial CleanSpace ensured the crawl space was isolated from the earth. The addition of the powerful and energy efficient SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier completed the encapsulation.
At CrawlSpace Solutions of Arkansas, we want every family to enjoy the peace of mind of knowing your crawl space is dry, healthy and structurally sound, just like this one.
Repairs to buildings on the National Register of Historic Places can be a challenge, but our team rose to the occasion! When we were called to give the committee an estimate to encapsulate this crawl space, we sent Design Specialist Jack to visit with them and complete the inspection. A crawl space vapor barrier is an excellent way to keep water and moisture from your crawl space, but it's also important to drain away flooded water that collects underneath.
By installing CleanSpace Drainage Matting, your crawl space is protected, and water is directed to your drainage system.
