Residents of Pine Bluff, Ar wanted to take care of their wet and smelly crawl space and turn it into a usable storage area. The air in the crawl space was extremely humid, resulting in mold growth and a bad odor coming up into the home. The residents knew they had to do something about the water in the crawl space before the problem became worse.
Crawl Space Solutions of Arkansas solved their nasty crawl space problems by fixing the water leakage, isolating the home from the earth, sealing out outside air, and keeping the crawl space air dry. In order to fix the water leakage, we installed a SmartSump, which is a high-quality crawl space sump system. It includes a perforated sump liner, a reliable pump, an alarm system, and an airtight lid with a floor drain.
We then isolated the home from the earth by installing CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace has multiple layers and is puncture and tear-resistant. It also contains an antimicrobial additive, which prevents mold growth on the liner. The bright white color of CleanSpace dramatically transforms the crawl space into a healthy, usable area. Once the crawl space was encapsulated, the outside air was sealed out by installing CleanSpace vent covers. The vent covers don’t rot, need paint, and won’t be eaten by bugs.
The final step was to keep the air dry by installing a SaniDry Sedona System. The SaniDry is a high-capacity, high-efficiency dehumidification system. It’s also an air filtration system, filtering particles out of the air to less than two microns in size. The SaniDry keeps the building materials dry, making the damp smell and feeling go away.
The residents were highly satisfied with their new dry and clean crawl space and were happy to be able to now use it for storage.
